A Brief Introduction to the 7 Seals of the Book of Revelation

The 7 Seals of Revelation Chapters 6-7 describe events that will take place leading up to the 2nd Coming of Yeshua / Jesus Christ and His takeover of planet earth! The 7 Seals start with the 4 Horsemen of Revelation, where 1/4 of earth’s population is predicted to be killed by “sword,” “famine,” “pestilence,” and “wild beasts.” God Judgment begins with only 1/4 destruction because He is trying to get people’s attention remember Him & repent! (Revelation’s 2nd depopulation prediction is in the 6th Trumpet where an additional 1/3rd of mankind is killed at Revelation 9:15-18.) The 4 Horsemen are the 1st Seal, 2nd Seal, 3rd Seal and 4th Seal of the 7 Seals in Revelation 6. Christ calls the 4 Horsemen the “beginning of birth pains” in Matthew 24:7-8.

The 5th Seal describes the time of the “Great Tribulation” where the Devil and his Governments attempt to genocide Biblical-keeping Christians. At Revelation 6:11, God tells the “slain” “souls” to “rest” “until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.”
The 6th Seal of Revelation describes the climax of the 7 Seals where Christ and the Father bring judgment & “wrath” on the wicked and bring “salvation” to the “144,000” and “Great Multitude” of Revelation 7!

The 7 Seals originate from 2 places in the scriptures. The first occurrence is in the Torah at Deuteronomy 32, called the “Song of Moses” also called “the Song of the Lamb” at Revelation 15:3, and the second is in the New Testament at Matthew 24.

Revelation 4 & 5 shows believers what is going on in Heaven before the 7 Seals are opened! Revelation 4 describes God’s Throne and heaven’s reasons to praise God! Revelation 5 continues this vision in Heaven as the Lamb is found worthy to open the 7 Seals! Revelation 5 climaxes with the Heavens praising the Father & the Son as the Son gets ready to open the 7 Seals in Revelation 6!

Biblical Source of the 7 Seals!

The 7 Seals originate from the “Song of Moses” at Deuteronomy 32 and can also be found in Matthew 24!
The “Song of Moses” is the conclusion of the Blessing and Curses of Deuteronomy 27-33. It is also the conclusion of the Torah just like Revelation is the conclusion of the Bible. Do you see the pattern? The Song of Moses is Re-Sung at Rev 15:3!

The 7 Seals of the Book of Revelation describe Yahweh’s process of:

1) ➥ “Blessings & Curses” of Deuteronomy 27-32 for the obedient & disobedient. Yahweh “Curses” disobedient people in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Seals with “sword,” “famine,” “pestilence” & “wild beast” killing 1/4th of the earth and in the 6th Seal He unleashes the “Curses” of His Day of Wrath causing complete destruction & removal of the disobedient people and nations who refuse to repent. After, Yahweh “Blesses” the “Great Multitude” in the 6th Seal for having “washed their robes” with “salvation,” no more tears & “springs of living waters.” (Revelation 7:14,17)

2) ➥ Destroying & removing disobedient humans, satanic governments & authorities while replacing them with His kingdom & government ruled by His Son & New Jerusalem for the 1,000 year reign.

3) ➥ Attempting to awaken humanity to remember Him, repentance & obedience with only partial destruction of 1/4th & 1/3rd is seen in the 4th Seal & in the 1st- 6th Trumpets before He increases His destruction to 100% as seen in His Day of Wrath expressed in the 7 Bowls of Wrath.

The Seven Seals in Revelation (chapters 5–8) are a prophetic series of divine judgments revealed when the Lamb of God opens each seal. They represent events leading to the end times, including war, famine, persecution, and cosmic upheaval.

The First Seal reveals a rider on a white horse, often interpreted as conquest, false peace, or the Antichrist. Some view it as the gospel spreading worldwide, while others see it as deception at the end times.

The first four seals unleash the Four Horsemen—white, red, black, and pale horses—representing conquest, war, famine, and death. Together, they depict escalating crises before Christ’s return.

    Shalom, thank you for all your hard work on this wonderful website.
    there is something I differ on though, (food for thought)
    the rider on the white horse is not Yeshua, it is a ‘spirit’ of deception.
    You mention that it has all these arrows, it does not say so in Chapter 6??
    we cannot add or subtract from the Word of GOD! If the Word does not
    say ‘something’ then we cannot ádd’ any ‘to make sense’ ??

    I believe a great deception is going to take place, and then the ‘false peace’ as the red horse indicates, then the beheading of the saints will increase.

      The rider on the white horse in Ch 6 is Antichrist.
      While the rider in 19:11 is Jesus Christ. Read all the attributes of Jesus in 19:11
