Who Is the Great Multitude in Revelation 7? Great Tribulation Explained!

Quick Answer:

The great multitude in Revelation 7 is a large group of people from every nation who come out of the Great Tribulation and stand before God, clothed in white robes, receiving salvation during the events of the 6th Seal.

The great multitude in Revelation 7 is described as a vast group of people from every nation, tribe, and language who stand before the throne of God after coming out of the Great Tribulation. Clothed in white robes and holding palm branches, they declare that salvation belongs to God and to the Lamb.

This powerful scene raises important questions: Who is the great multitude? How do they come out of the Great Tribulation? And how are they different from the 144,000 also mentioned in Revelation 7?

In this chapter, the Apostle John reveals two distinct groups the 144,000, a very specific numbered group contrasted with the Great Multitude that no man could number.

Understanding the great multitude in Revelation 7 is key to understanding Bible prophecy, the Great Tribulation, and the timeline of the Book of Revelation. In this study, we will break down the meaning of Revelation 7, explain the identity of the great multitude, and show how this event fits into the larger prophetic picture.

What Does Revelation 7 Say About the Great Multitude?

Revelation 7:9-17 (ESV)

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that No one could number, from EVERY NATION, from ALL TRIBES and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in WHITE ROBES, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ONES COMING OUT OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.15 “Therefore they are before the throne of God,    and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.

16 They shall HUNGER NO MORE, NEITHER THIRST ANYMORE;
the SUN SHALL NOT STRIKE THEM,
    NOR ANY SCORCHING HEAT.
17 For the LAMB in the midst of the throne will be their SHEPHERD,
and he will guide them to SPRINGS OF LIVING WATER,
and GOD WILL WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES.”

The 6th Seal STARTS at Revelation 6:12 & ENDS at Revelation 7:17!
The 6th Seal ends where the 7th Seal begins at Revelation 8:1, therefore, ALL of Chapter 7 is part of the 6th Seal!
Chapter 7 is frequently subtracted from the 6th Seal, depriving readers of the full details God has to offer, like “Salvation” at Rev 7:10.

➥ Read the full 6th Seal timeline in Revelation 6

Timeline of the 6th Seal (Revelation 6:12–7:17)

  • Starts: Rev 6:12
  • Ends: Rev 7:17
  • 7th Seal begins: Rev 8:1
  • Therefore all of Rev 7 = 6th Seal

144,000 vs Great Multitude – What are the Similarities and Differences?

Many Christians confuse the 144,000 and the Great Multitude and they lump them into one group. However the book of revelation clearly defines the 144,000 and the Great Multitude as two distinct groups separate from one another. This section will help you see the similarities and differences between the two groups.

Who Are the 144,000?

  • Sealed group (Revelation 7:4)
  • Exact number
  • The 144000 make up the leadership of Gods government.
  • The 144000 are the fulfilment of the prints, kings and judges in the bible – pattern of Exodus 19:5 fulfilled at Revelation 1:6, Revelation 5:9-10 and Revelation 20:4-6.

What are the Differences Between the 144,000 and the Great Multitude?

  • 144,000 = numbered and Great Multitude = uncountable.
Revelation 7 1st mentions a sealed group of 144,000 at Rev 7:4, then contrasting the exact number with the Great Multitude “that no man could number” at Rev 7:
  • The 144000 reign with Christ for 1,000 years at Revelation 20:6 over the Great Multitude at Revelation 5:10.
  • The 144,00 makes up the new heavens government and the Great Multitude will dwell on the earth. Revelation 5:10

What are the Similarities Between the 144,000 and the Great Multitude?

  • In Revelation 7, the Great Multitude & the 144,000 are the 2 groups Revelation says will gain “Salvation” during Christ’s second return!
  • The 144,000 and the Great multitude both come “from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages!” Compare Rev 7:9 & 5:9
  • Both receive salvation at Christ’s return being judged overcomers or conquers, the 144000 at Revelation 14:1-5 and the Great Multitude at Revelation 7:9-17.

What Is the Great Tribulation in Revelation?

In Revelation 7:14, the Great Multitude is spoken of as “Coming out of the Great Tribulation.”
This section will scripturally help you understand whatthis means.

Definition of the Great Tribulation

  • The Great Tribulation is a 31/2 shortened time period before Christ’s return where the devils governments unite to genocide all biblically believing Christians.
  • There are many places in the bible that describe the Great Tribulation, the main one being Matthew 24:9-26
  • In Revelation7:14 the Bible says the Great Multitude comes out of the great Tribulation.

When Does the Great Tribulation Happen?

  • According to Matthew 24 the Great Tribulation happens right after the beginning of birth pains described at Matthew 24:7-8 which is synonymous with the Four Horsemen of Revelation 6:1-8.
  • The Great Tribulation starts with the appearance of the abomination of desolation at Matthew 24:15 spoken of by Daniel the prophet.
  • The Great Tribulation ends at Matthew 24:29 with the appearance of the 6th Seal at Revelation 6:13

Purpose of the Great Tribulation (Purification)

  • During the Great Tribulation most Christians will abandon Christ because of the severe persecution. This allows the heavens to see very quickly and clearly who are the real loyal Christians versus the weak.
  • Daniel 11:35  And some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time.

This accordion highlights key scriptures describing the Great Tribulation, presenting passages that show the Great Multitude coming out of that period and detailing how they face hunger, thirst, scorching heat, and purification until the appointed time of the end — key themes tied to Revelation 7, the 6th Seal, and Salvation.

Revelation 7:14, 16
“These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation….”
“They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.”

The “Great Tribulation”
Matthew 24:21
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Abomination of Desolation STARTS the “Great Tribulation”
Matthew 21:15-21
15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.

19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.”
The Words “Abomination of Desolation” appears 3 times in Daniel
Daniel 9:26-27; Daniel 11:31-38 & Daniel 12:11-12.

Daniel – “Time of Trouble”
Daniel 12:1
“At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.”

YHWH’s Purpose of Great Tribulation is a Purified People
Daniel 11:33-35
33 And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder. 34 When they stumble, they shall receive a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flattery, 35 and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time.

Promises Given to the Great Multitude in Revelation 7

In Revelation 7:9-17 God makes a beautiful list of promises to the Great Multitude. These promises from God gives Christian such a wonderful hope for the future.

1. Salvation

  • God grants the Great Multitude Salvation at Revelation 7:10

2. No More Hunger, Thirst, or Scorching Heat

  • Revelation 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.
  • Revelation 7:16 is a direct quote from Isaiah 49:10

Revelation 7 does not describe an easy path into salvation, but a people who come through severe trial before receiving relief and restoration.

Are you ready to endure “hunger?”
Are you ready to endure “thirst?”
are you ready to endure “sun” “scorching heat?”
Many interpretations suggest this will not happen to believers, but a careful study of Scripture reveals a different perspective.”

3. The Lamb Will Shepherd Them to Springs of Living Water

  • Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
  • Revelation 7:17 is a direct quote from Isaiah 49:10
Isaiah 49:10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water will he guide them.
  • We see the Bible mention the springs of living water at Revelation 22:1-2, 17 and Ezekiel 47:1-12.

4. God Will Wipe Away Every Tear

  • Revelation 7:17 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
  • Repeated in Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
  • These passages at Revelation 7:17, 21:4 are directly quoting Isaiah 25:8, 65:19.

How Revelation 7 is Repeated in Revelation 21–22

The promises given to the Great Multitude in Revelation 7 are repeated again in Revelation 21–22, showing they are part of the same final outcome of God’s plan. The language of “no more tears,” “living water,” and God dwelling with His people is not isolated to Revelation 7, but is fully realized in the New Jerusalem. This connection shows that the reward of the Great Multitude is directly tied to the ultimate restoration described at the end of Revelation.

Great Multitude Fulfills YHWH’s Day of Atonement & Feast of Tabernacles!

This section outlines how the Great Multitude in Revelation 7 fulfills YHWH’s Day of Atonement by “coming out of the great tribulation” and celebrates the Feast of Tabernacles through palm branches, rejoicing, and dwelling in booths, emphasizing YHWH’s plan to “tabernacle” with His people in the 6th Seal as they anticipate Salvation.

The Biblical GOAL of ALL Believers is for YHWH to “TABERNACLE” or “DWELL” with them! Rev 21:3-4; 7:15. Ultimately, New Jerusalem is YHWH’s Tabernacle / Temple through which in the future He will “tabernacle” of “dwell” with His people. New Jerusalem is His master “plan… to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth” Eph 1:10, also Heb 12:22-24.

Fulfillment of Tabernacles in Revelation

In Revelation, YHWH’s Tabernacle of New Jerusalem, descends from Heaven to Earth to “tabernacle,” “dwell” or “shelter” His people with His “presence” in 2 specific places:

1) YHWH Tabernacles with “Great Multitude.
Revelation 7:15 NASB –,” for context Rev 7:9-17
“and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.”

2) YHWH Tabernacles with New Earth through New Jerusalem.
Revelation 21:3 KJV –for context Rev 21:1-7
“… Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

The Great Multitude Fulfills YHWH’s Day of Atonement requirements to “afflict yourselves” at Leviticus 23:27-32 by “coming out of the great tribulation” or great affliction Rev 7:14.

The “Great Multitude” Celebrates & Fulfills YHWH’s Feast of Tabernacles in 3 ways:

1) “Palm Branches”
Rev 7:9 “…with palm branches in their hands” fulfilling Lev 23:40 – “And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook..”

2) “Rejoicing”
Rev 7:10 – “and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” fulfilling Lev 23:40, “you shall rejoice before the Lord your God 7 days.”

3) “Dwell in Booths”
On ‘coming out of the great tribulation,” Rev 7:14 and surviving the  “great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth,” Rev 16:18, the Great Multitude will construct temporary housing or booths fulfilling Lev 23:42-43 “You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths,

43 that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”
As God delivered His people from Egypt in the past, He will repeat the pattern and deliver the “Great Multitude” from the Nations of Babylon the Great! Jer 16:14-15.

The Great Multitude reaches the Biblical goal of the Feast of Tabernacles! They are Rewarded with eternal life while, “He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them” Rev 7:15 NASB.

The “Great Multitude” Celebrates & Fulfills YHWH’s Feast of Tabernacles!

This section lists three ways in which the Great Multitude fulfils YHWH’s seventh and final Feast of Tabernacles!

1) “Palm Branches”

Rev 7:9 “…with palm branches in their hands” fulfilling Lev 23:40 – “And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook..”

Rev 7:10 – “and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” fulfilling Lev 23:40, “you shall rejoice before the LORD your God 7 days.”

3) ”Dwell in Booths”

On ‘coming out of the great tribulation,” Rev 7:14 and surviving the “great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth,” Rev 16:18, the Great Multitude will construct temporary housing or booths fulfilling Lev 23:42-43 “You shall dwell in booths for seven days. The Story of the Great Multitude comes from Isaiah

The story of the great multitude in Revelation 7:9-19 comes from the book of Isaiah. Isaiah provides more details than the Book of Revelation. The Book of Revelation only offers 9 verses of the story of the great multitude whereas the book of Isaiah offers more than 6 whole chapters that provide many more details of the time of the great multitude.

The Great Multitude in Isaiah Quick Summary

  • Revelation 7:16–17 comes from Isaiah 49:10 – hunger, thirst, heat, and living water.
  • Revelation 7:14 comes from Isaiah 49:9, 51:17 – The Great Tribulation.

Isaiah 49:1-7
Christ Called Israel!

1 Listen, isles, to me; and listen, you peoples, from far: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name:
2 and he has made my mouth like a sharp sword;
(Revelation 1:15, 19:16)
in the shadow of his hand has he hid me: and he has made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he kept me close:
3 and he said to me, You are my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4 But I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice [due] to me is with Yahweh, and my recompense with my God.

Christ Assignment from the Father
5 Now says Yahweh who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, and that Israel be gathered to him (for I am honorable in the eyes of Yahweh, and my God is become my strength);

6 yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
(Resurrection)
and to restore the preserved of Israel:
I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.
7 Thus says Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, [and] his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of Yahweh who is faithful, [even] the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.
(Not only will all Nations bow before Christ in Isaiah 49:7, but all Nations will serve the Great Multitude of Revelation 7 in Isaiah 49:23!)
(Philippians 2:10-11, Romans 14:11)
8 Thus says Yahweh, In an acceptable time have I answered you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I will preserve you,
and give you for a covenant of the people,
to raise up the land,
to make them inherit the desolate heritage:

Isaiah 49:8-26
Christ (Called Israel in vs 3) Restores Israel, the Great Multitude of Revelation 7!

9 saying to those who are bound, Go forth; to those who are in darkness, Show yourselves.
(Captivity / Prison – Daniel 11:33, Revelation 2:10, 7:14, 13:10, Luke 21:12-14)
They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.
(Restored from famine in the Book of Revelation)
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water will he guide them.
(Great Multitude of Salvation in Revelation 7:16-17)
(Literal water at Ezekiel 47, Water = Spirit at John 7:37-39)

11 I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12 Behold, these shall come from far; and, behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13 Sing, heavens; and be joyful, earth; and break forth into singing, mountains: for Yahweh has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.

Great Multitude Feels that God has Abandoned them!
14 But Zion said, Yahweh has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.

God’s Amazing Answer to the Great Multitude in vs 15-26!
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
16 Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

Restoration of the Great Multitudes Children After the Great Tribulation!
Children mentioned in 6 times at Isaiah 49:17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25!
17 Your children make haste; your destroyers and those who made you waste shall go forth from you.
18 Lift up your eyes round about, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live, says Yahweh, you shall surely clothe you with them all as with an ornament, and gird yourself with them, like a bride.
(Bridal dress ornaments are the kings & queens who were destroying and imprisoning the Great Multitude)
19 For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now shall you be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up shall be far away.
20 The children of your bereavement shall yet say in your ears, The place is too small for me; give place to me that I may dwell.
21 Then shall you say in your heart, Who has conceived these for me, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am solitary, an exile, and wandering back and forth? and who has brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?

22 Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my ensign to the peoples; and they shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
23 Kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am Yahweh; and those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.
(Revelation 3:9)
24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
25 But thus says Yahweh, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.
26 I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood,
(2nd & 3rd Bowls of Wrath Revelation 16:6)
as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Isaiah 25 (Web)

1 Yahweh, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; for you have done wonderful things, [even] counsels of old, in faithfulness [and] truth.
2 For you have made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
(7th Bowl of Wrath)
3 Therefore shall a strong people glorify you; a city of awesome nations shall fear you.
4 For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the awesome ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 As the heat in a dry place will you bring down the noise of strangers; as the heat by the shade of a cloud, the song of the awesome ones shall be brought low.
6 In this mountain will Yahweh of Hosts make to all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 He will destroy in this mountain the surface of the covering that covers all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations.
8 He has swallowed up death forever; and the Lord Yahweh will wipe away tears from off all faces;
(Revelation 7:17, 21:4)
and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Yahweh has spoken it.
9 It shall be said in that day, Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Yahweh; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
(Revelation 7:9-10)
10 For in this mountain will the hand of Yahweh rest; and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dung-hill.
11 He shall spread forth his hands in the midst of it, as he who swims spreads forth [his hands] to swim; but [Yahweh] will lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands.
12 The high fortress of your walls has he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.

1 Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek Yahweh: look to the rock whence you were hewn, and to the hold of the pit whence you were dug.
2 Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.
3 For Yahweh has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of Yahweh; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
(“YHWH has comforted Zion” Revelation 7:15-17, 21:3-4)
(Great Multitude joyfully celebrating Feast of Tabernacles at Revelation 7:9-12, “palm branches” at Revelation 7:9 signify joyful celebration at Leviticus 23:40.)

4 Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.
5 My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.

Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

Revelation 20:13
And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.

6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
(Great Multitude Salvation at Revelation 7:10)
7 Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; don’t you fear the reproach of men, neither be you dismayed at their insults.
8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; butmy righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation to all generations.
(Great Multitude Salvation at Revelation 7:10)

9 Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn’t it you who did cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?
10 Isn’t it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?
11 The ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy; [and] sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
(“wipe away tears” no more “mourning crying or pain” Revelation 7:17 and Revelation 21:4)

12 I, even I, am he who comforts you: who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass;
13 and have forgotten Yahweh your Maker, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
14 The captive exile shall speedily be loosed; and he shall not die [and go down] into the pit, neither shall his bread fail.
15 For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea, so that the waves of it roar: Yahweh of Hosts is his name.
16 I have put my words in your mouth, and have covered you in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and tell Zion, You are my people.
17 Awake, awake, stand up, Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of Yahweh the cup of his wrath; you have drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.
18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she has brought forth; neither is there any who takes her by the hand among all the sons who she has brought up.
19 These two things are befallen you, who shall bemoan you? desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort you?
20 Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of Yahweh, the rebuke of your God.
21 Therefore hear now this, you afflicted, and drunken, but now with wine:
22 Thus says your Lord Yahweh, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; you shall no more drink it again:
23 and I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, Bow down, that we may go over; and you have laid your back as the ground, and as the street, to those who go over.

1 I will extol you, Yahweh, for you have raised me up, And have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me.
3 Yahweh, you have brought up my soul from Sheol. You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing praise to Yahweh, you saints of his. Give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, But joy comes in the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”
7 You, Yahweh, when you favored me, made my mountain to stand strong. But when you hid your face, I was troubled.
8 I cried to you, Yahweh. To Yahweh I made supplication:
9 “What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth?
10 Hear, Yahweh, and have mercy on me. Yahweh, be my helper.”
11 You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,
12 To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

1 Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, And stand up for my help.
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against those who pursue me. Tell my soul, “I am your salvation.”
4 Let those who seek after my soul be put to shame and brought to dishonor. Let those who plot my ruin be turned back and confounded.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, The angel of Yahweh driving them on.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery, The angel of Yahweh pursuing them.
7 For without cause have they hid their net in a pit for me. Without cause have they dug a pit for my soul.
8 Let destruction come on him unawares. Let his net that he has hidden catch himself. Into that destruction let him fall.
9 My soul shall be joyful in Yahweh. It shall rejoice in his salvation.
10 All my bones shall say, “Yahweh, who is like you, Who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him, Yes, the poor and the needy from him who robs him?”
11 Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I don’t know about.
12 They reward me evil for good, To the bereaving of my soul.
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting. My prayer returned into my own bosom.
14 I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as one who mourns his mother.
15 But in my adversity, they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I didn’t know it. They tore at me, and didn’t cease.
16 Like the profane mockers in feasts, They gnashed their teeth at me.
17 Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my soul from their destruction, My precious life from the lions.
18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly. I will praise you among many people.
19 Don’t let those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; Neither let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.
20 For they don’t speak peace, But they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.
21 Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said, “Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen it!”
22 You have seen it, Yahweh. Don’t keep silent. Lord, don’t be far from me.
23 Wake up! Rise up to defend me, my God! My Lord, contend for me!
24 Vindicate me, Yahweh my God, according to your righteousness; Don’t let them gloat over me.
25 Don’t let them say in their heart, “Aha! That’s the way we want it.” Don’t let them say, “We have swallowed him up!”
26 Let them be put to shame and confounded together who rejoice at my calamity. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.
27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause. Yes, let them say continually, “Yahweh be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!”
28 My tongue shall talk about your righteousness and about your praise all day long.

1“I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask. I am found by those who didn’t seek me. I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name.

2I have spread out my hands all day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;

3a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense on bricks;

4who sit among the graves, and spend nights in secret places; who eat pig’s meat, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

5who say, ‘Stay by yourself, don’t come near to me, for I am holier than you.’ These are smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all day.

6“Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will repay, yes, I will repay into their bosom

7your own iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together”, says Yahweh, “who have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills. Therefore I will first measure their work into their bosom.”

8Yahweh says, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it, for a blessing is in it:’ so I will do for my servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all.

9 I will bring offspring out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains. My chosen will inherit it, and my servants will dwell there.
10 Sharon will be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for my people who have sought me.
11 “But you who forsake Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who prepare a table for Fortune, and who fill up mixed wine to Destiny;
12 I will destine you to the sword, and you will all bow down to the slaughter; because when I called, you didn’t answer. When I spoke, you didn’t listen; but you did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”
13 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry; behold, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, my servants will rejoice, but you will be disappointed.
14 Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will wail for anguish of spirit.
(Great Multitude – Revelation 7)
15 You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen, and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name,
16 so that he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from my eyes.
(No more tears, crying – Revelation 17:17, 21:4)

New Heavens and Earth

17 “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.
(Isaiah 65, 66 Revelations 21 2 Peter 3)
18 But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy.
(New Jerusalem)
19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.
(No more tears, crying – Revelation 17:17, 21:4)
20 “No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old will be accursed.
(1,000 year reign sin)
21 They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They will not build and another inhabit. They will not plant and another eat; for the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and my chosen will long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They will not labor in vain nor give birth for calamity; for they are the offspring of Yahweh’s blessed and their descendants with them.
24 It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat straw like the ox. Dust will be the serpent’s food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain,” says Yahweh.

The Great Multitude takes place during the 6th Seal

This section highlights how the 6th Seal is the first point in the 7 Seals where both Wrath and Salvation appear and also demonstrates that these same themes repeat in the 7th Trumpet.

The 6th Seal is the 1st time in the 7 Seals where “wrath” & “Salvation” is mentioned! – Rev 6:16-17, 7:10
Like the 6th Seal, the 7th Trumpet  is the 1st time time “wrath” & “REWARD” are mention in the 7 Trumpets! – Rev 11:18
In Both the 6th Seal & 7th Trumpet, “wrath” & “Salvation” or “Reward” occur!

”Wrath” & “Salvation” & “Rewarding”

Both “wrath” & “Salvation” or “REWARDING” only occur during the 6th Seal & 7th Trumpet!
The 6th Seal is the 1st time “wrath” & “Salvation” are mentioned in the 7 Seals!
➥ Revelation 6:12,17; 7:9-10
“When he opened the 6th seal…”
“for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”
“and behold, a great multitude that no one could number…crying out…”
Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, & to the Lamb!”

The 7th Trumpet is the 1st time “wrath” & “REWARDING” are mentioned in the 7 Trumpets!
➥ Revelation 11:15,18
“Then the 7th angel blew his trumpet…”
“The nations raged, but your wrath came,
and the time for… REWARDING your servants, the prophets & saints, & those who fear your name, both small & great.”

Both “wrath” & “Salvation” or & “wrath” & “REWARDING” only occur during the 6th Seal & 7th Trumpet!
Don’t be deceived into believing anything other than what the bible says!

WARNING to those who teach differently:
Revelation 22:18-19
“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.”

The 6th Seal Includes Revelation 6 & 7 Spans 2 Chapters!
The 6th Seal STARTS at Revelation 6:12 & ENDS at Revelation 7:17!
Revelation 7 is frequently subtracted from the 6th Seal, depriving readers of the full details God has to offer, like “Salvation” at Revelation 7:10.
The 6th Seal ends where the 7th Seal begins at Revelation 8:1; therefore, ALL of Chapter 7 is part of the 6th Seal!
The 6th Seal is the 1st time in the 7 Seals where “WRATH” & “SALVATION” are mentioned! – Revelation 6:16-177:10

These common questions summarize the main teachings of Revelation 7 and clarify how the Great Multitude relates to the Great Tribulation, the 144,000, and the 6th Seal.

The 6th Seal is presented as beginning at Revelation 6:12 and ending at Revelation 7:17, with the 7th Seal starting at Revelation 8:1, so all of Revelation 7, including the Great Multitude, is part of the 6th Seal and belongs to that same time frame of wrath and Salvation.

The Great Multitude is described as a group that no one could number, from every nation, all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands, crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,” and identified as those coming out of the great tribulation who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7 presents the 144,000 and the Great Multitude together within the 6th Seal as the two groups that receive Salvation during Christ’s second coming, with the 144,000 first mentioned as a sealed group and the Great Multitude then introduced as a contrasting innumerable group, yet both coming from every nation, tribes, peoples, and languages.

The 144,000 are presented as an exact, numbered group that is sealed, whereas the Great Multitude is described as a group that no one could number; the text highlights this contrast between a specific sealed number and an uncountable multitude, even as both share a global origin from every nation, tribes, peoples, and languages.

Within the 6th Seal, “wrath” and “Salvation” appear together for the first time, and the Great Multitude is shown coming out of the great tribulation crying out, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,” indicating that this group receives Salvation as part of God’s timing for Salvation in the Book of Revelation.

The Great Multitude is said to have “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb,” and passages from Daniel describe the wise stumbling by sword, flame, captivity, and plunder so that they may be refined, purified, and made white until the time of the end, showing that the white robes reflect a purified people coming out of the great tribulation.

Those in the Great Multitude are described as coming out of the great tribulation with robes washed white in the blood of the Lamb; therefore they are before the throne of God, serving Him day and night in His temple while He who sits on the throne shelters them with His presence, and the Lamb in the midst of the throne shepherds them.

The Great Multitude is promised that they shall hunger no more and neither thirst anymore, that the sun shall not strike them nor any scorching heat, that the Lamb will be their shepherd and will guide them to springs of living water, and that God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, language that is later echoed in the promises of Revelation 21–22.

The Great Multitude fulfills YHWH’s Day of Atonement requirement to “afflict yourselves” in Leviticus 23:27–32 by coming out of the great tribulation, or great affliction, as described in Revelation 7:14, reaching the biblical goal of atonement as a people who have endured tribulation and been washed and made white.

The Great Multitude celebrates and fulfills YHWH’s Feast of Tabernacles in three ways:

  1. Palm branches – they stand with palm branches in their hands (Revelation 7:9), fulfilling Leviticus 23:40, which commands taking branches of palm trees and leafy trees.
  2. Rejoicing – they cry with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:10), fulfilling the command in Leviticus 23:40 to rejoice before YHWH for seven days.
  3. Dwelling in booths – after coming out of the great tribulation and surviving a great earthquake such as never had been since man was on the earth, they construct temporary housing or booths, fulfilling Leviticus 23:42–43, and in doing so they reach the biblical goal of the Feast of Tabernacles as YHWH spreads His tabernacle over them.
