Jeremiah 50:1-3
Declare Among the Nations Babylon’s Fall!

1 The word that Yahweh spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.
2 “Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don’t conceal;
say, ‘Babylon has been taken,
Bel is disappointed,
Merodach is dismayed!
Her images are disappointed. Her idols are dismayed.’
(“Babylon is Fallen!” – 2nd message of the “eternal Gospel at Revelation 14:8. Also occurs at Revelation 18:2, Isaiah 13: 21:9, Jeremiah 50:2, 51:8)
(“Idols” and “images” are a repeated them at Revelation! Thyatira and Pergamum was engaged in Babylon idolatry at Revelation 2:14, 20. Also in 6th Trumpet mankind refuses to repent from Babylon idolatry at Revelation 9:20. Idolatry at Revelation 21:8, 22:15)
(Revelation 17 describes the Judgment of Babylon, Revelation 18 describes the fall of Babylon)
(Timing of Babylon’s fall in in the 7th Bowl of Wrath at Revelation 16:19)
(“Babylon has been taken” – Revelation 17:16-17, “fallen” Revelation 18:2, “single day” “burned up with fire” Reflation 18:8)

3 For a nation comes up out of the north against her, which will make her land desolate, and no one will dwell in it. They have fled. They are gone, both man and animal.
(Nation from the North is what God calls the Babylonians in the beginning of Jeremiah.)
(God calls the 10 Horns and the Beast to “desolate” Babylon “and burn her up with fire” described at Revelation 17:16-17.)
(“No one will dwell in it. They have fled.” –

How God Progressively Destroys Babylon the Great in the Book of Revelation by Drying up her Waters / People Explained!

Historical Pattern Foreshadow of Book of Revelation Pattern!

The Meads and the Persians diverted the Euphrates river to penetrate ancient Babylon’s seemingly impenetrable walls and destroyed Babylon suddenly!
Likewise in the 6th Trumpet at Revelation 9:15, God dries up the “great river Euphrates” symbolic of people at Revelation 7:15 and in the 6th Bowl of Wrath at Revelation 16:12 before He causes the Beast and the 10 Kings to “devour her flesh and burn her up with fire” at Revelation 17:16-17!

Babylon’s “waters” symbolic of “people” at Revelation 17:15 drying up progressively throughout the Book of Revelation through depopulation:

No more water – No more People!

  • 4th Sea at Revelation 6:8 where 1/4 of mankind is killed.
  • 6th Trumpet where the “4 angels” “were released to kill 1/3rd of mankind” released from the “great river Euphrates” at Revelation 9:14-15.
  • 6th Bowl of Wrath is poured out on “the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east” at Revelation 16:12. During the war of Armageddon at Revelation 19:11-21, Babylon’s global combined armies are destroyed leaving Babylon defenseless or drying up her waters symbolic of “people” at Revelation 17:15.
  • 7 Bowls of Wrath complete God’s massive depopulation of the people on earth thus drying up Babylon’s waters. Isaiah 21:6 says “few men are left!”
  • Babylon Falls in the 7th Bowl of Wrath at Revelation 16:19. Once Babylon’s waters are dried up, God puts it into the hearts of the 10 horns and the beast to “devour her flesh and burn her up with fire” at Revelation 17:16-17!

“Kings” “will stand far off” Revelation 18:10, “merchants” “will stand far off” Revelation 18:15, “shipmasters” “stood far off” Revelation 18:17)

Jeremiah 50:4-5
God Makes an Everlasting Covenant with the Great Multitude of Survivors!

4 “In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh, “the children of Israel will come, they and the children of Judah together; they will go on their way weeping, and will seek Yahweh their God.
(no more mourning and tears – Revelation 7:17, 21:3-4)
5 They will inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying, ‘Come, and join yourselves to Yahweh in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.’
(Great Multitude of Revelation 7:9-17)
(“Everlasting covenant” at Jeremiah 31, Hebrews 8, Ezekiel 36, Zechariah 8.)

Jeremiah 50:6-8
The Great Multitude Delivered out of Babylon After the Great Tribulation!

6 My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have caused them to go astray. They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place.
(Bad shepherds Zechariah 11 and Ezekiel 34 and Revelation 2 and 3.)
7 All who found them have devoured them. Their adversaries said, ‘We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers.’
(During the Great Tribulation)
8 “Flee out of the middle of Babylon! Go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks.

What does it mean to Flee out of Babylon?
God’s 2 Different Calls to come out Babylon:

  1. Before Babylon is destroyed, God calls his people to come out of her sinful practices so you don’t get judged and destroyed with her at Revelation 18:4 and Jeremiah 51:5-6.
  2. After Babylon is judged and destroyed, God calls His people to physically leave Babylon and to return home at Isaiah 48:20, Jeremiah 51:46 and Zechariah 2:6-7.

You can see the two difference meanings used in the same chapter at Jeremiah 51:5-6 and Jeremiah 51:45.

Jeremiah 50:9-12
Babylon’s Fall is Certain for Plundering God’s People!

9 For, behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they will set themselves in array against her. She will be taken from there. Their arrows will be as of an expert mighty man. None of them will return in vain.
(God calls the 10 Horns and the Beast to “desolate” Babylon “and burn her up with fire” described at Revelation 17:16-17.)
10 Chaldea will be a prey. All who prey on her will be satisfied,” says Yahweh.

11 “Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses,
(Fulfilled during the Great Tribulation)
(Plundered Christians during the Great Tribulation at Revelation 13:17, Daniel 11:33, Hebrews 10:34)
12 your mother will be utterly disappointed. She who bore you will be confounded. Behold, she will be the least of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
(mother?)

Jeremiah 50:13-16
God’s Vengeance in the 7th Bowl of Wrath and Harvest of Revelation 14:17-20! Kings, merchants and seafaring men are all astonished at Babylon’s plagues in Revelation 18:9-19!

13 Because of Yahweh’s wrath she won’t be inhabited, but she will be wholly desolate. Everyone who goes by Babylon will be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
( In Revelation 18:9-19, the Kings, merchants and seafaring men are all astonished at Babylon’s plagues!)
14 Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her. Spare no arrows, for she has sinned against Yahweh.
(God’s Wrath against Babylon in the 7th Bowl of Wrath at Revelation 16:19)
(Revelation 17:5 – “her sins are heaped high as heaven.”)

15 Shout against her all around. She has submitted herself. Her bulwarks have fallen. Her walls have been thrown down, for it is the vengeance of Yahweh. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, do to her.
(Vengeance of Yahweh – 5th Seal martyrs question on when God avenge our blood at Revelation 6:10, Answer at Revelation 19:2 after the fall of Babylon)
(“As she has done, do to her” – Jeremiah 50:15, 29, Revelation 18:6)
16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest. For fear of the oppressing sword, they will each return to their own people, and they will each flee to their own land.
(Christ’s and the Angels’ “sickle” at the harvest at Revelation 14:17-20)
(“each return to their own people, and they will each flee to their own land” – Pattern of Exodus fulfilled in the future through the Great Multitude of Revelation 7:9-17! Just as God sent the 10 plagues for Pharaoh to let His people go, God sends the 7 Bowls of Wrath to free the Great Multitude from global Babylonian captivity! Jeremiah 23:7-8)

Jeremiah 50:17-20
Redemption for the “Great Multitude” of God’s People “Coming out of the Great Tribulation” Described in Revelation 7:9-17!

17 “Israel is a hunted sheep. The lions have driven him away. First, the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”
(The Beast and False Prophet / Little Horn “conquer” and “defeat” the saints during the Great Tribulation at Revelation 13:7 and Daniel 7:21, 25)
(This is God’s reason for the Judgment of Babylon!)
(How does the pattern of 2 kings apply to the end times Great Tribulation?)

18 Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
19 I will bring Israel again to his pasture, and he will feed on Carmel and Bashan. His soul will be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and in Gilead.
(Israel, the Great Multitude, brought into “his pasture” and “soul” “satisfied” at Revelation 7:15-17, 21:3-4.)
20 In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh, “the iniquity of Israel will be sought for, and there will be none, also the sins of Judah, and they won’t be found; for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.
(Pardoning of sins at Ezekiel 36:33. Read Ezekiel 36:24-37 for full process explanation!)
(“Everlasting covenant” at Jeremiah 31, Hebrews 8, Ezekiel 36, Zechariah 8.)

Jeremiah 50:21-31
The Destruction of Babylon!

21 “Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod. Kill and utterly destroy after them,” says Yahweh, “and do according to all that I have commanded you.
(“Kill and utterly destroy them” – God calls the 10 Horns and the Beast to “desolate” Babylon “and burn her up with fire” described at Revelation 17:16-17.)
22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
23 How the hammer of the whole earth is cut apart and broken! How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations!
(“Hammer of the whole earth” – “war club” Jeremiah 51:20-23, God uses Babylon to “judge” and “reproof” the earth at Habakkuk 1:6, 12)
(“Babylon” “desolation”– Revelation 17 describes the Judgment of Babylon, Revelation 18 describes the fall of Babylon)
(“Babylon has been taken” – Revelation 17:16-17, “fallen” Revelation 18:2, “single day” “burned up with fire” Reflation 18:8)

(God calls the 10 Horns and the Beast to “desolate” Babylon “and burn her up with fire” described at Revelation 17:16-17.)

24 I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, Babylon, and you weren’t aware. You are found, and also caught, because you have fought against Yahweh.
25 Yahweh has opened his armory, and has brought out the weapons of his indignation; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a work to do in the land of the Chaldeans.
(Insert God’s destruction of Babylon process here)

26 Come against her from the farthest border. Open her storehouses. Cast her up as heaps. Destroy her utterly. Let nothing of her be left.
27 Kill all her bulls. Let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their visitation.
(“Time of their visitation” Jeremiah 51:27, 31, Luke 19:44, Jeremiah 46:21, “day of visitation” at 1 peter 2:12, Isaiah 10:3, Micah 7:4, Ezekiel 24:21.)

28 Listen to those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Yahweh our God, the vengeance of his temple.
(“flee and escape out of the land of Babylon” – These passages occur after God destroys Babylon – Isaiah 48:20, Jeremiah 51:6, 45, Zechariah 2:6-7. Not to be confused with Revelation 18:4 which sounds similar but occurs wile Babylon is dominant on the earth and is simply an invitation to God’s people not to participate in Babylon’s sins or suffer the consequences.)

29 “Call together the archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. Encamp against her all around. Let none of it escape.
(God calls the 10 Horns and the Beast to “desolate” Babylon “and burn her up with fire” described at Revelation 17:16-17.)
Pay her back according to her work. According to all that she has done, do to her; for she has been proud against Yahweh, against the Holy One of Israel.
(Revelation 18:6-8)
(“That she has done, do to her” – Jeremiah 50:15, 29, Revelation 18:6)

30 Therefore her young men will fall in her streets. All her men of war will be brought to silence in that day,” says Yahweh.
(Does “that day” that God destroys Babylon include both the 6th and 7the Bowls of Wrath because Babylon’s “men of war” are destroyed in the 6th Bowls of Wrath at the Battle of Armageddon.)

31 “Behold, I am against you, you proud one,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies; “for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.
(“Time of their visitation” Jeremiah 51:27, 31, Luke 19:44, Jeremiah 46:21, “day of visitation” at 1 peter 2:12, Isaiah 10:3, Micah 7:4, Ezekiel 24:21.)
32 The proud one will stumble and fall, and no one will raise him up. I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour all who are around him.”

Jeremiah 50:33-34
God Redeems His Captive People!

33 Yahweh of Armies says: “The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together. All who took them captive hold them fast. They refuse to let them go.
(Let my people go Exodus pattern)
(Captivity / prison for Christians during  the Great Tribulation – Revelation 13:10, 2:10, 7:14, Daniel 11:33, Luke 21:12-14)
34 Their Redeemer is strong. Yahweh of Armies is his name. He will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
(“Rest to the earth” – Isaiah 14:7, Zechariah

Jeremiah 50:35-40
God’s Complete List of Parts of Babylon to be Destroyed!

35 “A sword is on the Chaldeans,” says Yahweh, “and on the inhabitants of Babylon, on her princes, and on her wise men.
36 A sword is on the boasters, and they will become fools.
A sword is on her mighty men, and they will be dismayed.
37 A sword is on their horses, on their chariots, and on all the mixed people who are in the middle of her; and they will become as women.
A sword is on her treasures, and they will be robbed.
38 A drought is on her waters, and they will be dried up; for it is a land of engraved images, and they are mad over idols.

Babylon’s “waters” symbolic of “people” at Revelation 17:15 drying up progressively throughout the Book of Revelation through depopulation:

  • 4th Sea at Revelation 6:8-9 where 1/4 of mankind is killed
  • 6th Trumpet where the “4 angels” “were released to kill 1/3rd of mankind” released from the “great river Euphrates” at Revelation 9:14-15.
  • 6th Bowl of Wrath is poured out on “the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east” at Revelation 16:12. During the war of Armageddon at Revelation 19:11-21, Babylon’s global combined armies are destroyed leaving Babylon defenseless or drying up her waters symbolic of “people” at Revelation 17:5.

39 Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves will dwell there. The ostriches will dwell therein. It will be inhabited no more forever, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation.
(Insert dessert creatures scriptures)
40 As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbor cities,” says Yahweh, “so no man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.

Jeremiah 50:41-46
God calls the 10 Horns and the Beast to “desolate” Babylon “and burn her up with fire” described at Revelation 17:16-17!

41 “Behold, a people comes from the north. A great nation and many kings will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
42 They take up bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea. They ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Babylon.
(Beast & 10 Kings)
43 The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of him, pains as of a woman in labor.
44 Behold, the enemy will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it. Whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it, for who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who can stand before me?”
45 Therefore hear the counsel of Yahweh that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely they will drag them away, even the little ones of the flock. Surely he will make their habitation desolate over them.
46 The earth trembles at the noise of the taking of Babylon. The cry is heard among the nations.
