Revelation 9:12-21

12 One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things.
13 Then the 6th Angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet,
“Release the 4 Angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”
15 So the 4 Angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.

16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed–by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm.

20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

God’s Altar in Heaven Occurs 7 Times! 

Altar appears 7 times in the Book of Revelation! The Altar is not on earth but in Heaven “before God” or “before the throne!” (Rev 9:13, Rev 8:3). The Altars in YHWH’s earthly temples made by men serve as a copy, shadow or pattern of God’s Altar in heaven next to His Throne. In Revelation we see the heavenly reality of the Tent of Meeting furnishings!

4 Angels Appear twice in Revelation!

The 4 Angels Appear 2 times in the Book of Revelation.
In there 1st appearance at Revelation 7:1-3, during the 6th Seal, they are told to “hold back the 4 winds…until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
In there 2nd appearance at Revelation 9:13-15, during the 6th Trumpet, the 4 Angels are “released to kill a third of mankind.”

Release of 4 Angels Signifies Completed Sealing of the 144,000

When is the Sealing of the 144,000 complete?
Revelation provides a clue in the 6th Seal at Revelation 7:1-3! 
The “4 Angels” “holding back the 4 winds” are told “not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
If we can determine when the 4 Angels are released, then we know the sealing of the 144,000 is complete or finished!

So when are the 4 Angels released?
In the 6th Trumpet at Revelation 9:13-15! 
So we know in the 6th Trumpet, the Sealing of the 144,000 is complete or finished!

Release of Bound Angels at Euphrates Signifies the Start of the Judgment of Babylon!

YHWH dries up her waters to invade as the Medes overthrew ancient Babylon.
Babylons waters mean: Revelation 17:15 – “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.

Pattern / Waters

As the Medes diverted and dried up the Euphrates river to invade & destroy Ancient Babylon, YHWH again follows His pattern and dries up the great river Euphrates before the judgment and destruction of Babylon the Great in Revelation.
At Revelation 17:15, God reveals His interpretation of waters: “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. Drying up Babylon’s waters means removing or killing “peoples and multitudes and nations.”

6th Trumpet – Kill 1/3

In the 6th Trumpet, YHWH starts His attack, destruction and Judgment on Babylon by drying up her waters which “are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.” In the 6th Trumpet He is literally removing or killing the worlds population drying up the waters of Babylon.

7th Bowl – All Cities on Earth Destroyed!

7th Bowl of Wrath – Rev 16:18, Babylon’s waters further dried up with “great earthquake” where “the cities of the nations fell!

In the 6th Trumpet, the “4 Angels” who are “released to kill 1/3 of Mankind” (Rev 9:15) do so by “3 Plagues” of “fire and smoke and sulfur” in Rev 9:18-19.
The only other place in the Bible where we see the same language of fire & smoke & sulfur is in God’s destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah
