Exodus 24:1-3
Moses’ Instructions to go up the Mountain 3rd Time with Aaron & 2 Sons & 70 Elders
1 He said to Moses, “Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.
(Priests and Leadership if Israel gong up the mountain foreshadows the 144,000 going up the mountain at Revelation 14:1-5)
(We see the 24 Elders and the Angles of Revelation 4 & 5 also worshiping God at a distance. Although distance is not mentioned, the 144,000 are likely worshiping at a distance at Revelation 15:2-3.)
2 Moses alone shall come near to Yahweh, but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him.”
(Moses foreshadow of the Lamb closest to God’s Throne at Revelation 4:6, 7:17)
3 Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahweh, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do.”
Exodus 24:4-6
Moses Builds a Temple Foreshadowing the Pattern of New Jerusalem
4 Moses wrote all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
(“Moses” foreshadow of Christ
“Mountain” connection at Revelation 21:10.
“Build and altar” connected to 5th Seal altar at Revelation 6:9-11 assembled at Revelation 11:1.
“Twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel” connected to Heavenly New Jerusalem at Revelation 21:12-14, 3:12)
(YHWH Builds Heavenly New Jerusalem Temple Scriptures!
- God is the designer and builder of a new future temple at Hebrews 11:10.
- God’s future temple is the fulfillment of the “Kingdom of Priest” mentioned at Exodus 19:6, Revelation 1:5-6, 5:9-10, 20:6 and Genesis 17:6, 16.
- God appoints Christ to build the Temple of New Jerusalem at Zechariah 6:12.
- New Jerusalem is called a temple at Revelation 3:12.
- Christ is the “cornerstone” of Heavenly New Jerusalem at 1 Peter 2:6.
- Christ is the High Priest at Hebrews 4:14-16, 5:5-10, 7:23-27, 9:11-12
- The “Holy Priesthood” or “Royal Priesthood” works under Christ at 1 Peter 2:5, 9. This priesthood is also called “living stones” at 1 Peter 2:5.
- 5th Seal altar “number” of 144,000 at Revelation 6:11 measured at Revelation 11:1 to commence the building in the 6th Trumpet.
- We know the 144,000 is the “Kingdom of Priests” by connecting the “144,000” “first fruits” at Revelation 14:3-4 to the “first resurrection” “priests” who “will reign with Him for the 1,000 years” at Revelation 20:5-6. First fruits is connected to resurrection at 1 Corinthians 15:20 and Revelation 1:5, 2:8.

Exodus 24:7-8
God Makes a Covenant & Israel Agrees
7 He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “All that Yahweh has spoken will we do, and be obedient.”
(Same formula at Revelation 1:3 and Deuteronomy 31:9-11 [Song of Moses / Lamb])
8 Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.”
(Blood of the covenant fulfillment mentioned at Matthew 26:28 and Hebrews 9:15-20)
Exodus 24:9-12
Moses Goes up the Mountain 3rd Time with Aaron & 2 Sons & 70 Elders
9 Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.
(Fulfillment in the Lamb and the 144,000 at Revelation 14:1-5, 12:5, 15:1-3)
10 They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.
(God’s Throne with a sea of Glass in Revelation 4:6, 15:2)
(See God’s face at Revelation 22:4)
11 He didn’t lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.
(Ate and drank fulfillment at Revelation 3:20, 19:9 – marriage supper of the Lamb)
12 Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the tables of stone with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.”
(Fulfillment in the Lamb and the 144,000 at Revelation 14:1-5)
(Fulfillment of the Kingdom of Priests job is to teach the people. Here is a short list of Scriptures:
Priests on Earth during Christ’s 1,000 year reign:
➥ Ezekiel 44:23
They shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.
➥ Leviticus 10:10-11
You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean,
11 and you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes that the Lord has spoken to them by Moses.”
➥ Deuteronomy 33:10
They shall teach Jacob your rules and Israel your law; they shall put incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar.
➥ Malachi 2:7
4 So shall you know that I have sent this command to you, that my covenant with Levi may stand, says the Lord of hosts. 5 My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. It was a covenant of fear, and he feared me. He stood in awe of my name. 6 True instruction was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.
7 For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. 8 But you have turned aside from the way. You have caused many to stumble by your instruction. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts, 9 and so I make you despised and abased before all the people, inasmuch as you do not keep my ways but show partiality in your instruction.”
Clean vs Unclean scriptures: Lev 11:47, 13:59, 14:27, 20:25-26
Judge scriptures: Deuteronomy 17:8-11, 21:5
Bad Priests:
Malachi 2:7-9
Priest in the good Samaritan
Priest in Judges when wife got chopped up
➥ Ezekiel 22:23-29
23 And the word of the Lord came to me: 24 “Son of man, say to her, You are a land that is not cleansed or rained upon in the day of indignation. 25 The conspiracy of her prophets in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they have devoured human lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst.
26 Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have disregarded my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken.
29 The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without justice. 30 And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. 31 Therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned their way upon their heads, declares the Lord God.”
➥ Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
7 The more they increased, the more they sinned against me; I will change their glory into shame.
8They feed on the sin of my people; they are greedy for their iniquity.
9 And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.
10 They shall eat, but not be satisfied; they shall play the whore, but not multiply, because they have forsaken the Lord to cherish 11whoredom, wine, and new wine, which take away the understanding.
Duties of the Levites:
Numbers 18:1-7
(Sounds like Moses is going up the mountain an additional time because this time Aaron is at the foot of the mountain at Exodus 24:14?)
Exodus 24:13-18
Moses Goes up the Mountain 4th Time with Joshua
13 Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God’s Mountain.
14 He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”
15 Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
16 The glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
17 The appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.
18 Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
